paper is to analyze a mediated health message in terms of its potential impact on society. You are free to choose
any mediated health message (e.g., online news article, tweets, video, television show, magazine article, etc.,)
but
you must submit a copy of the message along with your paper. Using two of the theoretical frameworks
discussed in class, you will predict the effects of the health message you have chosen (e.g., identify and describe
the health beliefs, attitudes, and/or behaviors that are likely to be impacted by the message). Finally, you will
offer some advice for policy makers, audiences, and media sources for how mediated health messages can be
improved.
You should spend part of your paper analyzing the message you have chosen. The idea here is to examine the
important parts of the content in terms of the potential effects you will be suggesting. Naturally, then, you will
want to tell me about all of the elements that are pertinent to your analysis and why they are important for
predicting potential health effects. As part of your analysis, you should note audience characteristics that may be
relevant to your argument. That is, you should explicitly identify the kinds of people you are talking about in

analysis. In your conclusions, you should offer some suggestions for changing media content or educating
audiences for addressing any negative outcomes you discuss. If you find positive outcomes, you should talk
