You will write a two page, single-spaced memo that should address the single most important issue that you believe the company is facing or should address to have a sustainable competitive advantage. In the memo, you should identify at least three issues that surface through the analysis that you complete. However, most of your “issues” and “recommendations” sections should be about the most important issue that the company is facing.As with the prior case memo, you must include financial ratios, the winning strategy tests, and a SWOT (The analyses should not just be tables or a listing of items, but they should lead to issues and goals that you discuss in your Issues and Recommendation sections.) Remember, too, that if you use only these required analysis tools, it does not guarantee an “A” on your paper. In other words, I recommend that you demonstrate the use of additional tools discussed in your textbook. All charts, graphs, and other analysis must be in the Appendix.
In the memo portion, you must also incorporate terms and/or concepts that are mentioned in your textbook, such as strategy, diversification, mission and goals, triple bottom line, etc. that are appropriate for the case you have chosen. Your memo will include these sections: a brief Introduction regarding the purpose of the memo, Primary Issue, Analyses, and Recommendations.
Your memo should refer to information in the Appendix, but the primary narrative about the analyses will be in the memo portion. You must have at least two recommendations that are backed up by peer-reviewed resources. These resources cannot include your textbook.
You will upload your final memo on Blackboard’s Turnitin link. The same grading criteria will be used that was used for your first memo. Remember to cite your references both in the text and on a reference (not Work Cited) page.
